Guests at Hayamakan can enjoy traditional multi-course meals and relax in the indoor/outdoor hot-spring baths. The dinner set was amazing, especially the a la carte steak menu and the delicious rice ( ot was different from other places ). It was very helpful that there were Thai staff in the hotel ( as we were Thai and it was hard to communicate with Japanese Staff )

Located within a 10-minute walking distance from the Zao Sky Cable aerial lift, Miyamaso Takamiya features 9 natural hot spring baths for guests to enjoy. it was the best experience for me to stay in this beautiful ryokan. the staff is very nice try to explain everything in english. they also provide yukata to wear. the food is very delicious. everything is exceed my expectation. also they send us to terminal bus by car, because there is a heavy snowfall.

We had an excellent stay, food and presentations were exquisite. We admired the thought that went into presenting food in dishes that are compatible with the “mood” of the food. Only 5 minutes walk to the lift. Staff were professional, rooms were comfortable and clean. We really enjoyed our stay.

From the irori and lit torches greeting us at the entrance, to the sumptuous kaiseki meal and lovely onsen, everything was perfectly traditional and inspiring.

Winter closure of the open-air baths "Shirakaba-no-yu" (Late December - 28 February) Due to the accumulation of snow, the open-air bath will be closed during the winter. Hotel's free bus shuttle from Yamagata train station made it easy to commute to the hotel. The location is excellent within walking distance of snow/ski areas. We purchased Zao Ropeway passes from the hotel (cash only). Complimentary accesss to 2 Onsens and boots and coat was an added bonus! We also enjoyed our Japanese style family dinners at their on site restaurant. Staff was very helpful in calling various agencies to check ski lesson availability as most of the agencies spoke in Japanese only. They also helped us book a taxi on our way back to Yamagata train station as the shuttle service only operates twice a day. The rooms were large and beautiful with breathtaking views of the mountain trees covered in snow!
