Set in Viana do Castelo and facing Lima River, the AP Dona Aninhas is 2 minutes' walking from the city centre. I would have given a 10 just for the room. but there was also free breakfast and a nice and clean pool and jacuzzi. So I would say it is exceptional!

Situated in a 12th century Augustin Convent, the Pousada Mosteiro de Guimaraes overlooks Guimarães. Rooms are equipped with modern amenities including air conditioning and cable TV. Fabulous hotel which was well located and had lovely facilities. I’ll be back

The room was very clean and the shower was the best I’ve ever experienced in a hotel. Exceptional all around!!

Staying at Solar de Vila Meã was a beautiful experience from start to finish. The first thing that struck me was the setting — it’s absolutely stunning. Surrounded by vineyards and peaceful countryside, the entire property feels like a hidden retreat. Every view, whether from the room, the pool, or the garden, looked like a painting. There’s a real sense of calm and space here that’s hard to describe but easy to fall in love with. The restaurant, Barro, completely exceeded expectations. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely proud of what they serve, which made the whole experience even more special. If you’re looking for a place that combines natural beauty with exceptional food and a sense of quiet luxury, I couldn’t recommend Solar de Vila Meã more highly.
