Even by the high standards of the Mercure chain of hotels, this one is exceptional. A beautiful, modern building which is mostly a giant, glass-roofed atrium, it provides huge, airy, light spaces. The bar in the atrium is a very comfortable and pleasant place to sit. There is a good indoor swimming pool plus sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. We ate very well in the restaurant. The bedroom was spacious and well equipped.

Hotel Mercure Chartres Centre Cathedrale is located at the heart of Chartres, overlooking the cathedral and market. It has air-conditioned rooms with satellite TV and free WiFi access. Everything was great, including the breakfast which was early enough for us to catch our train, even on a Sunday.
