I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else if I went back to Ottawa.

Each unit is fitted with air conditioning, private bathroom and a kitchenette including a fridge. Some units feature a terrace and/or a patio. We stayed in one of the motel rooms, it looks rustic but the interior is tastefully updated. The room is spacious with high ceilings and spotlessly clean, even comes with a kitchenette and a small closet. Wi-Fi is good and stable. Large TV. The sounds the heater makes kind of sounds like rain falling on the roof. It was one of the most comfortable stays we've had on our road trip, so much so we decided to stay and relax for an additional 2 hours in the morning instead of getting right back on the road.

Wayside Motel Manitoulin is located in Manitowaning. All rooms feature a refrigerator and a flat-screen TV with cable channels and an HDMI cable. Guests can enjoy high speed internet.

Guestrooms are air conditioned and decorated with local art and local handmade furniture. Rooms are soundproofed and offer a microwave and tea- and coffee-making facilities. A private bathroom is also included. Everything. It was super clean. Elizabeth and her son were fantastic hosts - helpful, accommodating and friendly. The patio area was a gem for evening sunset viewing and morning coffee. They were super helpful with the use of their bbq too. Overall it’s top notch, conveniently located near the highway, but far enough back away from it. The town of Manitowaning is really peaceful, and the beach is a 2min drive from the motel. It is a short drive to Sheguiandah and Little Current as well as South Baymouth (ferry terminal). As a former resident of Little Current, returning home for a visit, I discovered Manitowaning from a new perspective and found it to be an amazing little place to stay. Can’t say enough about the Wayside and the owners.
