We stayed in one of 6 units so it’s small but feels just right. The hosts Shelley and Ross are very welcoming and helpful. Its position right by the beach of this quiet safe sandy bay was perfect. Understandable that kiwis book here. Lovely to walk the length of the bay at dawn or dusk. Outside grassy area and tables overlooking the bay with shade when it’s very hot. There are no bars, shops or restaurants in this area which makes it really peaceful. There’s a communal gas barbecue to use. Laundry room and drying facilities and you can borrow beach towels. Small onsite shop for essentials if needed but other shops are a short drive away.

We loved how close it was to the beach. Clean and modern space. The hosts were extra welcoming and inviting and they go above and beyond for their guests. An extra benefit was the delicious coffee footsteps away.

Overlooking the sparkling waters of Mangonui Harbour, Mangonui Waterfront Apartments is the most centrally and conveniently located accommodation in the historic and beautiful village of Mangonui. The accommodation was stunning—an enormous, beautifully decorated, stylish apartment with everything spotlessly clean. The hosts were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We were extremely satisfied with our stay and were genuinely saddened that we couldn’t stay longer. If we visit New Zealand again, we will definitely return and stay here. Once again, we thank the hosts for everything they did for us. We highly recommend this accommodation to everyone.
