Akaroa Criterion Motel is situated opposite Children’s Bay. It is a 16-minute walk from Mt Vernon Akaroa. Excellent location. Good parking. We were able to walk everywhere.

The location is very good, just walk distance to the Otago university and the station. The motel host, Barry, also gives us very detail instruction and tour guide for our reference.

Just 4 minutes’ drive from Lake Wanaka, the property features free WiFi and barbecue facilities. The chalet was outstanding, the kitchen was fully equipped and the laundry machine was a life saving.

Everything is perfect, clean and comfortable and they have a laundry for your use as well. The hosts are so considerate and welcoming. It is close to the Botanical Gardens and Bird Aviary which are a must see when you visit Dunedin, especially in October/November for full on flowers.
