Good breakfast, bathhouse and certainly shuttle bus services helped a lot! Sadly, the pool was not available although I was planning to swim there. The view from bed room was amazing.

It was located near the train station and just a short walk away from Wedded Rocks, Wan store (pork buns) and the Akafuku mochi store. The facilities were clean and well-appointed, and the staff were really nice. The room was spacious and clean, and the baths were nice. I recommend the private bath – the ¥3300 was worth it! Edit: Note that it has shared toilet and bath facilities. I didn't see a private shower/bath area.

The hotel and the rooms are nicely furnished. Very friendly staff and nice package of meal and other cultural activities. The hot spring is simply amazing! Very accessible from Toba station (free shuttle bus that runs every 30 minutes or 10 min of walk)

The breakfast was delicious. The food tasted very fresh. We especially appreciated that many of the food stations had attendants preparing the dishes. It got very busy at one point, but we never had an issue getting our food. The shuttle to and from Toba Station was very convenient. We contacted the staff from a payphone at Toba Station. We were able to communicate our needs through our very limited knowledge of the Japanese language. The driver took our luggage and said they would store it till we checked in. This allowed us to continue on with our sightseeing plans without physically going to the hotel first. That really helped maximize our time in Toba! Wonderful Service!

Hotel is located on a hill which has a nice view of the harbor. Shuttle bus is very convenient, you can also walk down the hill. Staff are very friendly and helpful, excellent!

The staff at Bali Resort Saya went above and beyond to help us do several things in Toba that we couldn’t have done ourselves. Perhaps the most helpful staff of any hotel I’ve stayed in. They also have free snacks and drinks (including alcohol) every day. The rooms and entire hotel has a Balinese theme with carvings and gamelan music in the background- very serene. The views from the rooms are a sweeping panorama overlooking Toba Harbor. The sunsets and early morning were especially spectacular. Toba is pretty far off the beaten path for English-speaking tourists, so you’ll need Google translate to get around, but the vibe of the town is very laid back. Reminds me of a Japanese Bar Harbor, Maine. Amazing seafood too!
