Everything was very pretty and modern. We really enjoyed the public onsen which was really clean and had all the amenities. For a small extra charge, you can also make a reservation for the private onsen at the reception. Highly recommend! One of the best places we stayed in Japan.

This is an Onsen Paradise!! Is like the Onsen amusement park! The place is incredible! So many services!! Everything is just amazing; the town, the hotel, the room, the baths… they even allow you to check the bath of another hotel, in case you did not have enough! I have been in many Ryokan and this was TOP!

The ryokan is located in a geothermal area, with a number of hot springs nearby for guests to relax in. The food was excellent, the outdoor onsen was amazing, and the lady who served us was incredibly kind and helpful (we left something on the bus, and she went out of her way to help us recover it). A truly lovely place!

This 4-star ryokan offers luggage storage space and bicycle parking. The ryokan has parking on-site, a hot spring bath and full-day security. Extremely kind staff. Made us feel welcome from minute one. Room was huge. It even had a traditional "fire place" inside the room

Set just 43 km from Hida Minzoku Mura Folk Village, Pension Kinoshita features accommodation in Takayama with access to an open-air bath, a garden, as well as luggage storage space. The place was absolutely charming - it felt like staying at a Japanese grandmother’s home. The host was an elderly woman who ran the entire pension herself and prepared amazing food. The property is beautiful and very traditional, with its own private natural onsen. The only downside is that there are no showers in the rooms or even in the building - you can only shower in the onsen area. It wasn’t a big issue, considering the overall experience
