You can pick up a yukata and the hotelier helps you dress up and take pictures. They give you local snacks and sake. There is also a great onsen that can be rented as private late in the evening.

The ryokan is located in a geothermal area, with a number of hot springs nearby for guests to relax in. We felt right at home in Yunohirakan. The rooms were comfortable, and the very quiet location as well as the height allowed us to sleep comfortably with the windows open. The staff was very friendly and helpful. And we especially loved the evening meals which were delicious!

The whole place is beautiful and cosy, the rooms are comfortable, the outdoor onsen was absolutely wonderful, accessible 24/7, and the breakfast was delicious and worth every penny.
