We spent Christmas Day here. Very traditional, clean and welcoming. The photos on Booking.com did not do this place justice. Staff were helpful, and offered advice about the local market. How to use the Onsen and etiquette about shoes/slippers and provided traditional wear whilst staying at the Ryoken everyone wore them, regardless of nationality, which made the evening meal very special. The 13 course dinner was really a whole experience that we won’t forget. We opted for the Japanese breakfast, again beautifully presented with a lot of food. All food was produced locally which was great too. Lots of art and historical pieces to browse and staff happy to talk you through. Rooms were comfortable clean and traditional. We had room 311 which was a family room with a bedroom and matted area where futons were laid out for additional guests. The room was large enough for us to accommodate 6 adults for after dinner drinks. Was really close to the train and bus station and we caught the ski shuttle bus and went skiing for the day. Very much one of the best parts of our stay.

El Miyama Ouan Kyoritsu Resort ofrece un alojamiento tradicional con baños termales y vistas a la naturaleza en las montañas tranquilas de Hida. This is the best hotel we have stayed at!! We loved everything about it. The staff were friendly and accommodating. They helped us with our bags and showed us to our room. The restaurant staff were also fantastic. Our room was beautiful and peaceful. The private bath was like nothing I have seen before. So cool! Overlooking the quiet forest. The beds were comfortable, cozy and the sliding doors hardly let any light in. The womens public outdoor bath is exactly like the pictures, overlooking trees with an amazing red autumn colour tree at the front. It was just so beautiful. There is also a sauna and cold plunge in the women's bath as well as ice cold water to drink after the hot bath. I even had the public bath to myself on the second day which was so cool! The hotel provides great amenities in the lobby and the room. Water, local sweets and shampoo/ soap in the room as well as additional toiletries as you check in. At night there are local snacks, ice water and sake in the lobby. In the lounge they had beer, wine and local apple juice at night. Tea and coffee available in the daytime. There was also ice lollies and milk for after the public bath. The outdoor private baths which are on a first come first served basis were also beautiful. We were able to use them often on our stay which I was glad about as I initially worried they would be too busy. They open til late too. The outdoor deck has a fire pit at night overlooking the trees it was so peaceful. We had the hida beef at dinner which we cooked ourselves on the grill, a great experience. It may be better to book this hotel direct as we didn't realise we hadn't booked breakfast and dinner. Luckily they had space for us when we checked in. There is a free shuttle from the bus station although it is a short walk if you don't have heavy bags. We did so called them via pay phone upon arrival and they were there within 5mins.

Hakuunsou se encuentra en Takayama, a 48 km de Estación de Takayama y a 26 km de Kamikochi. Ofrece alojamiento con restaurante y wifi gratis en todo el alojamiento, además de parking privado gratis. Although it has a retro feel I enjoyed the comfort and service immensely. The private onsen was so welcome and pleasurable

Iroriyado Hidaya está en Takayama, a 18 min a pie de Estación de Takayama, y dispone de alojamiento con jardín, parking privado gratis y salón de uso común. Excelente lugar, muy linda la habitación, con estilo tipico del ryokan, muy amoroso el trato del personal con mi bebé: él adoró jugar con ellas. Espectacular desayuno.

Tajimi Guest House se encuentra en Tajimi, a 33 km de Oasis 21, y ofrece alojamiento con bicicletas gratis, parking privado gratis, jardín y terraza. So kind and helpful couple who runs this unique architectural place - higly recommended for cultural travellers!

The location is beautiful, far away and a bit tricky to get there but beautiful. The owners are lovely, very kind and respectful. They even picked us up from the bus station because we didn't know there were not buses after 17hs. It was raining a lot and they picked us up and drove us to the pension. We are very grateful for that. The food is amazing! I loved every breakfast and dinner. The love and passion they put on the preparation is wonderful. For me it was the best traditional food I tried in Japan. The onsen where as expected, I enjoyed them a lot. The rooms were very big and comfortable, with enough space for luggage. The owners don't speak English but communicate through a tablet so it was very easy to ask things.

Yunohirakan está muy bien situado en el barrio de Hirayu Onsen, Takayama, a 38 km de Localidad Museo de Hida Minzoku Mura, a 47 km de The Japan Ukiyo-e Museum y a 49 km de Estación de Matsumoto. We felt right at home in Yunohirakan. The rooms were comfortable, and the very quiet location as well as the height allowed us to sleep comfortably with the windows open. The staff was very friendly and helpful. And we especially loved the evening meals which were delicious!

El Mozumo está situado en una zona tranquila de la región de Gifu, a 52 minutos en coche de la estación JR de Takayama, y cuenta con un baño de aguas termales y habitaciones decoradas con interiores... Me encantó tener la experiencia de un onsen e increíble que fuera privado. Nosotros reservamos con anticipación desayuno y cena y wow: son comidas y alimentos tradicionales japoneses. El servicio del staff también es maravilloso, siempre al pendiente de nosotros. Las habitaciones super amplias, cómodas y limpias, brindan artículos complementarios. Recomiendo mucho dedicarle el tiempo suficiente y sacarle el máximo provecho a la estancia. A nosotros nos tocó con nieve y fue un espectáculo de vistas. De nuestras mejores estancias en Japón!
