The place is easily the best stay I had in Japan: great, spacious room (apartment rather) with own onsen-powered bath, amazing traditional Japanese breakfasts, lovely, open, and helpful staff & owner. Reasonably located in a typical small-street quarter of a Japanese city, which was in a reasonable walking distance from everything you might want to see in the city.

The onsen open to the forest, we loved it. Even they do not speak to much English, everyone was nice and communicate

The place is amazing, the staff is super kind and helpful. The onsen was clean and perfect to take a break from fast paced travel, take a moment to relax and enjoy it. Dinner and breakfast felt extremely authentic and of course good, even if far from what we are used to in Europe. This place is a must if you want to try a real Japanese experience.

Featuring free WiFi throughout the property, the non-smoking hotel has a hot spring bath. A truly stunning, historical and special stay. The owner and team were so wonderful and looked after us beautifully. The suite itself was divine. Soaking in a cedar tub while looking at the forest floor is something we’ll never forget. The private dining room makes your stay feel even more exclusive. The food was truly out of this world. Our baby was catered for beautifully. We even had a large Moses basket in the dining room for her to rest. The area itself is very cool- there was an arts and crafts fair there when we stayed. There is a beautiful forest walk too. Can’t fault the stay and can’t wait to return one day.

Food was top notch. Cute, walkable little mountain village with relocated Edo houses and nature trails. Amazing experience!

The ryokan is located in a geothermal area, with a number of hot springs nearby for guests to relax in. Loved the hotel. Location was a little far out for us. Taxi back and forth to town was about $50 USD each way and some taxis only took cash. Hotel and staff were exceptional.
