Tatami (woven-straw) floors and shoji paper screens create a zen atmosphere in the rooms at Kotohira Onsen Kotosankaku Hiten. An en suite bathroom with a bathtub and Western toilet is attached. Some rooms include a private hot-spring bath. It is absolutely beautiful, we stayed in a western style room and it's absolutely huge! It also had an amazing view of the mountain behind. We didn't bother using the onsen as we have tattoos but we walked around the hotel and it's so beautiful with many art pieces and sculptures. The breakfast buffet was also very delicious and the dining hall was beautiful.
