Gora Onsen, Hakone

The property features mountain and garden views, and is 7.9 km from Hakone-Yumoto Station. The guest house provides rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. I’m very picky at most things and not a pleasant person to deal with, but that place and people who work there have left me no chance but to like them and to fall in love with Japan in general. After this trip I’m depressed for picking Chinese over Japanese as a uni major 😫😅 The staff have anticipated our every thought and took care of things almost like magical fairies : they were only noticeable when needed and the rest of the time we felt like the whole place belonged solely to us. Even though there were other guests there. And little messages everywhere that make you read the clues and use your brain instead of constantly asking stuff for help like a child is the best thing for me. Plus the price is resonate even for a poor Ukrainian bastard like me😅. 10 out of 10.

Everything was perfect. Great location close to the station and alot of shops nearby. Room was big and spacious. Very clean. Comfortable futon beds. The natural hotspring onsen was very clean and so relaxing especially the open Air bath. This is a really nice Ryokan perfect for relaxing and soaking in onsen. Breakfast and dinner was plentiful and well presented.
The location of the property is amazing! 😍 in the middle of the nature :) the hot spring onsen are super nice! There are also mixed bathes where woman and man can go inside together :) the staff was super friendly! The food was good, too.
Decent accommodation in traditional Japanese ryokan style. Four private onsens, two indoor and two outdoor that are across the road and up the street. Outdoor onsens were very nice, and it was pretty relaxed to get a time slot to use it. The owner also let us store our luggage there for a few hours after we checked out while we visited Lake Ashi. Great little restaurant across the street that was very affordable. Around 1000y pp.
Absolutely incredible staff from the moment of arrival to the moment of departure. In particular, Yuuta was so helpful, attentive, and downright elegant. An EXCEPTIONAL breakfast and dinner were included with our room, prepared as Japanese interpretation of multi-course French cuisine. The view from the dining area was stunning. Absolutely wonderful. I believe all rooms include a private outdoor onsen (hot spring bath) where you can soak for hours while enjoying nature.
The Japanese style room was totally beyond our expectation. The room is very clean, bed is comfortable and warm, bathroom has everything we'd need. In the room, it also provides full bottle of water in the water boiler, along with a full tea set! The in-room dinner and breakfast is a completely blow-away experience! The in-room onsen also provides the convenience to my daughter to enjoy the hot spring without going to the public area.
The private onsen in our room was amazing. Soaking in the hot spring water overlooking the zen garden was lovely.
Beautiful Japanese ryokan in a magical setting. The multi-course kaseiki dinner and traditional breakfast were superb, with all the dishes impeccably presented and absolutely delicious. Our lovely hostess, Kyoko, graciously served us and patiently explained every dish using goggle translate. The onsens had great district views and we emerged from the hot spring water feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. We would love to come back here again!
The place is best to experience the Japanese hot springs without feeling crowded. The staff was really kind and treated us like their friends/family. The shared hotspring area is really clean and spacious. The private hot spring was my fav. part.
Nice location away from busy cities. Like an adventure. Hiking options. Nice variety of hot springs. But the outdoor onsen for men only should be reopened as soon as possible
