The hotel was very clean both in the public areas and the hotel room! Staff was very kind and professional. They were very accommodating and well versed in different languages. Very foreign and local people friendly.

We had an amazing stay, the hotel had literally everything we could think of: a spacious room with lots of different (!!) outlets including type-c and usb, free use of hotel onsen with volcanic water (tattoo-friendly), drinking water and fully equipped shared kitchen, and of course - a very reasonably priced bakery. Would definitely stay again if in Shirahama!

Building was newly renovated and combined traditional with modern minimalist vibes. Location was perfect center of town and next door to Jizoyu onsen. Staff were outstanding hosts spoke English and always available to assist. Breakfast was excellent and varied from daily. Featuring koshihikari rice made in a donabe and fresh egg for TKG!The private onsen and sauna were excellent. If you have never stayed in a traditional Onsen Ryokan, Akaishiya will spoil you and be your reference point going forward.
