Situated along Tanohara River and surrounded by tranquil nature in Kurokawa Onsen hot spring area, Oku no Yu Ryokan offers charming Japanese-style accommodation and various hot spring baths. Staff are nice and professional. Great arrangement and communication in advance. Private onsen is perfect for a family with kids and elderly. We stayed here for 2 nights with great variety of food.

Built in 1722, Okyakuya is situated in the historical district of Kurokawa Onsen district. Located only 100 metres from Kurokawa Onsen, Free WiFi is provided and private parking is available on site. What an extraordinary stay! We had one of our best nights in Japan at Okyakuya! From the first minute the service was outstanding, our baggage was transported to our room, car parked. Great room, even tough traditional it was modernized keeping its original charm. Both dinner and breakfast where amongst the best we had in any Ryokan we stayed at. After checking out we where offered additional towels as we wanted to explorer other Onsens in town

Breakfast was exceptional, and the staff nice. Room was very big, with nice onsen (one indoor tub and one outdoor on the terrace). Location is nice and quiet, with forest surrounding. Even if on a remote location, it was easy to find using navigation, and the road signs marking the property.

Kurokawa Onsen Yama no Yado Shinmeikan features 5 hot-spring baths, including a 30-metre long cave bath. 10/10 everything was amazing! The place the food the staff and the baths! They even tried to accommodate our needs, as muslims, as much as possible ❤️ would recommend, would go again 👍 Thank you very much.

Located in the centre of Kurokawa Onsen, Oyado Noshiyu offers outdoor and indoor hot-spring baths, Japanese-style accommodations and a traditional teahouse. Meals are great. Services are really good. Hot pools in the room and the outdoor ones are all enjoyable.

Located in Minami Aso in the Kumamoto Region, 10 km from Naka-dake, Hotel Yumeshizuku boasts a hot spring bath and sauna. Each room at this hotel is air conditioned and features a flat-screen TV. The dinner was delicious, really enjoyed.

Situated in the centre of the Kurokawa Onsen Area and boasting a total of 8 indoor/outdoor hot spring baths, Nanjoen offers traditional Japanese-style accommodation with tatami (woven-straw) flooring... There's pick-up service from the nearby bus station. The service is very good, they even helped to keep your shoes. The view from the room is very nice, and the room is spacious and comfortable.

Boasting various indoor and open-air hot spring baths, Fumoto Ryokan offers traditional Japanese-style accommodation with a historic charm. It is surrounded by serene greenery next to a river. Greeted by friendly receptionist, rooms are huge even for a family of 6. Food and on-sen are exceeded our expectation. One particular receptionist could speak Mandarin and she made our stay so comfortable.
