We loved everything about our stay at Yadoya Shiroganeya. Maki is an excellent host and her mother is an amazing cook! The local food of Nagano was delicious and hand picked by Maki herself. We had fun making friends with the resident pets Fukumaru and Kenta. We were even lucky enough to see snow during our stay, but we were cozy and warm inside at all times. There are so many lovely touches to this property that made it one of the most special places we’ve ever stayed. We hope to visit again!

The staff were very friendly and we had lovely Japanese ladies who personally showed us to our rooms and made tea for us, and offered local Japanese snacks. We had a lovely chat, albeit limited English from them. Dinner and breakfast were served in a private room, food and service were awesome! We had a birthday celebration and they prepared a lovely cake for us. We had such a wonderful stay that we are still reminiscing weeks after our trip.

Beds are very comfortable, shower is strong, rooms a good size with good insulation from neighbours, and the style very well judged - making it pleasant to spend time in the room. A hotel shuttle bus is a nice bonus - making it easy to get to the slopes in the mornings. Thanks guys for a great holiday!
