It's a short walk from the train station (though it does mean it's a bit of a walk to the castle) and the whole place has a really relaxed and charming vibe. Value for money was great, and there are many things to like. Staff is friendly and I really liked the design and setup of the rooms. Then there is the nicely set up onsen on the top floor with an indoor and outdoor bath, as well as a sauna and cold plunge bath. On top of that, there is free ice cream, free yakult in the morning, free ramen in the evening (after 9:30 pm) and free drinks from 3 pm to midnight. Design of the place is very Japanese (shoes in locker at entry) and with all the perks included, we really enjoyed our stay. Plenty of restaurants at walking distance as well. Would return if in Matsumoto again.

Our one night at Takimi House was the highlight of our two-week trip to Japan. The hosts, a lovely couple, made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Their warmth and hospitality were truly exceptional. The food was another standout aspect of our stay. Every meal was delicious, but the miso soup was particularly incredible. It was the best we’ve ever had! Additionally, the hosts picked us up and dropped us back off at the train station in Nagiso which was incredibly helpful given the remote location of Takimi House. This extra touch made our stay even more convenient and enjoyable. Overall, Takimi House provided an unforgettable experience, and we highly recommend it to anyone visiting Japan.

The sofa bed was made for my child and thank you. The hot bath is actually bigger than in the picture . Staff doesn’t speak English but they use google translate and communication still considered efficient. The message chair is a plus!

It's slightly difficult to access, but worth it. The room was very comfortable and the view from the window very pleasing. Onsens were also very relaxing, and the dinner and breakfast was top notch. I would definitely recommend staying here.
