Rooms are with Japanese traditional flavor too, yet sleeping on proper beds, not on a floor mattress. The hot spring area on the higher floor with city view is great with indoor and outdoor hot water pool options, cold water plunge pool and sauna. Great value for the money paid!

A beautifully renovated Ho(s)tel in Hakuba. It was very cozy & nice to meet some people around the firepit with some beers. Chef's great and the hospitality of the people, out of this world. Located in the Happo one area. Transfer service was heavenly! Staff was super nice and the onsen was perfect after a day out!

It felt like you had your own room while visiting grandma's house. The traditional Japanese style house was very comfortable and cozy and it was a great place to rest after a long day out. All the basic necessities were available, and there was even a complimentary ticket to the onsen nearby. The host lady was very nice and caring, always ready to help if you needed something. Location was also great, a short walk from the nearby train/bus station terminal to get to wherever you need. There is also a convenience store if you need to get snacks, and if you're hungry the host also runs a local Snack Bar Kitchen that you can order food from! Will definitely stay here again when i return!

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food was amazing. The shuttle service was very helpful for coming and going from the train station and to various activities. The onsen was clean and relaxing. There was laundry available for use. Games outdoors and indoors. Just amazing.

Hands down the best hospitality we have ever experienced. Maki is the most gracious of any host we have ever had. Excellent food (lots of it). This accommodation is worth planning an entire trip around. 2 private onsens. A massage chair. It was our first time with a traditional Japanese futon and we were surprised how comfortable sleeping was. Beautiful scenery and the most hospitable hosts (Maki, her mom the chef and Kenta the house pup) Thank you for an unforgettable stay! We can’t wait to come back again someday.

The setting, atmosphere and tranquility were out of this world. Our host was really very friendly and attentive as well as being chatty. All previous reviews of the inn were right. Really well worth experiencing. Fantastic Japanese dinner in the evening

Spacious room, liked the massage chair, nice views of the forest. We saw deers and raccoon dogs from the hotel. The only thing to be aware of is that there are no bathrooms attached to the rooms, showering is reserved to the onsen, toilet and sink are in the room.

The staff was very kind and the location is pretty good. Not too far from the station by foot and there are nice restaurants nearby. The inn has an awesome bathhouse on the top level and a few minutes away there is a public foot bath as well.

My wish is everyone could stay here / experience this stay. Upon arrival we were greeted with a friendly face & exceptional service. They brought our luggage up to the room for us and showed us how to use a ryokan. Honestly wish I could give the man at the front desk / little old lady helping us in a hug. The private onsens were so gorgeous. We were able to access all 3 without a wait , but if they were in use there’s a time limit of 50 minutes and you can mark yourself down next if that’s the case. We chose to have dinner & breakfast included in our stay, and it was also amazing. High quality local traditional food. We were taught how to eat some dishes. We were both brought to tears with the amount of joy this stay brought us. One of our top experiences within Japan. Our room was huge with lots of space & beautiful light. Futons were comfortable. If you’re undecided where to stay for a great ryokan experience, please choose this place ! * If you’re looking for coffee there is a vending machine in lobby area & just outside near the parking lot.
