Situated in Matsuyama, 500 metres from Joshin-ji Temple, Kowakuen Haruka offers accommodation with an open-air bath, private parking and a garden. The hotel is modern but we were able to stay in the traditional Japanese style room - everything about the room was thoughtfully prepared (tea, drip coffee, robes and slippers for use when going to onsen, ice machine and small souvenir shop), clean and beds were comfortable. The location was very good, nice buffet dinner, live music performance at night and very kind staff. The rooftop onsen was excellent - it had a beautiful view of Matsuyama city, different soaking areas (outdoor and indoor with spa bubbles) and felt pretty private.

An Asian breakfast is available at the ryokan. The ryokan is located in a geothermal area, with a number of hot springs nearby for guests to relax in. The inn was so beautiful and many wonderful qualities. It's location is in the middle of a lively street full of shops and restaurants and a close (though uphill) walk to a temple. The in-room amenities were wonderful: whole coffee beans, a grinder, a coffee pot and cups, a separate teapot and teacups, pajamas, robes, and any necessary toiletries. The provided breakfast and dinner was delicious, traditional Japanese fare with English menus to explain the nightly courses (though I'd still suggest having a translator app). Last, but certainly not least: the baths were incredible. I appreciate that the private baths did not need a reservation and were all themed differently. So relaxing!! All my worries melted away here.

The accommodation offers 3-star accommodation with a hot spring bath. A wonderful amazing hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The setting is overwhelming! Why only 3 stars, the hotel deserves 5.

This 4-star ryokan offers a 24-hour front desk and a lift. The accommodation provides a hot spring bath, free WiFi throughout the property and family rooms. Yamatoya Besso is a very exceptional place where you get to experience a ryokan in an amazing onsen. The staff is exceptionally kind and helpful. I am hoping to visit again in the future and if I do, that would be a third visit.

A 15-minute walk from JR Kotohira Station, Kotohira Kadan offers natural hot spring baths and spacious Japanese-style rooms, some with a private outdoor hot spring bath. Free Wi-Fi is available in the public area and in some rooms. The kindness and consideration of hotel staffs, and facilities here were also amazed us. a wonderful stay experience.

Immaculately clean house with every need catered for. Great place to rest for a day after travelling for a few weeks. Host communicated well and was very considerate. The nearby Loki cave is well worth a look.

Although tiny, it had absolutely everything we needed, and it didn't feel cramped at all!
