The hotel is modern but we were able to stay in the traditional Japanese style room - everything about the room was thoughtfully prepared (tea, drip coffee, robes and slippers for use when going to onsen, ice machine and small souvenir shop), clean and beds were comfortable. The location was very good, nice buffet dinner, live music performance at night and very kind staff. The rooftop onsen was excellent - it had a beautiful view of Matsuyama city, different soaking areas (outdoor and indoor with spa bubbles) and felt pretty private.

Located in Kasuga, 26 km from Takamatsu, Asan Kotonami features a terrace and views of the mountain. The ryokan has a hot spring bath and sauna, and guests can enjoy a meal at the restaurant. We liked the location a lot. The food, the room, the bathing area were great and the personal very helpful and kind.

Featuring beautiful nature views from its rooftop hot spring bath, Hotel Kazurabashi offers Japanese-style rooms and a dining room where food is prepared in the hearth at the guest's table. We had the room with the onsen on the terrace, which was wonderful. Both the Japanese dinner and breakfast were also absolutely amazing.

A 15-minute walk from JR Kotohira Station, Kotohira Kadan offers natural hot spring baths and spacious Japanese-style rooms, some with a private outdoor hot spring bath. Really excellent stay in this out of the way and beautiful place! Our room had a private hot spring bath - perfect for relaxing after a hike up to the many shrines on the mountain. We came for when the Kabuki theater had a show and it didn’t disappoint. Staff was multi-lingual. Food was excellent, Japanese set menus in a charming dining room.

As is almost always the case in Japan, all the utensils such as hairdryers, shower gel, toothbrushes etc. are provided. These are of particularly high quality (eco/organic) here. The beds under the roof are very comfortable and you sleep excellently. To fall asleep, you can watch the stars through the skywindow. The surroundings are very quiet. Everything is quiet, so you can relax on the terrace. Ryota, the owner, offers free bicycles that are great for exploring the area. If you want, you can also book surfing and stand-up paddle with Ryota. The water is perfect for this and still warm enough at the end of October.
