Facilities were clean and well maintained. Rarely anybody is in the onsen when you want to go so you get the whole place to yourself. It's pretty close to bus stops so if you want to travel to the Hakone cable car it's doable (same with open air museum).

Opened in April 2017, Hakone Kowakien Tenyu offers Japanese-style rooms with tatami flooring, an open-air bath or ceramic open-air hot springs bath made with Shigaraki pottery. The property boasts views of Tonomine, Myojogatake and Mount Asama. Free WiFi is available throughout the property. The most incredible stay on our Japan trip. Everything from the staff to the food and onsen facilities were incredible. The staff were so very accomodating, buses come around daily to take guests around hakone sights. My only regret is that we didnt stay long enough.
