There are 2 indoor hot springs baths and an open-air bath at the property. Has everything you could possibly ask for. Rooms are very comfortable, there are plenty of toilets, bathroom facilities, so no waiting time. The showers come with small onsen, every one of which is uniquely pretty. There are large common areas, which are very social. We even got invited to join the owners steam pot party one evening.

Boasting a shared kitchen, this property also provides guests with a sun terrace. Kishu Museum of Art is 1.4 km away and Heisogen Park is 1.5 km from the apartment. It was very clean and well presented. The bbq balcony was a great spot to sit and unwind. Good laundry and kitchen facilities. Bakery had delicious baked goods and great choices.

With an open-air bath, the 2-star ryokan has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a shared bathroom. The ryokan features a hot spring bath and a housekeeping service. A great small guest house. The hosts were very pleasant and accommodating, very good English skills. Thank you! Everything was clean, the futon beds actually were surprisingly comfortable. We very much enjoyed the private onsen! Since the guesthouse is not big we did not have to wait to use it even once. The location is very nice, it is near the river and everything is within walking distance (except for groceries shop but that is expected in such a remote area).

Hotel Kirinosato Takahara features outdoor and indoor hot spring baths, only a 2-minute walk from the World Heritage Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Routes. It offers free Wi-Fi throughout the property, a terrace and rooms with a Japanese interior and Western beds. I seldom rate a 10 but Kirinosato Takahara deserves it hands down! No wonder it’s not easy to get a room here, because it always got booked out. There’s a lot of passion and heart put by the whole team led by Jian into making guests feel happy and comfortable - from the hospitality, attention to details, great food (muy delicioso!) and ambiance. The onsen is clean and of hotel standard. It’s not cheap to stay here but I got my money worth and more!

Ashita no Mori is located in the Kawayu Onsen district of Hongu, 20 km from Kumanokodo Nakahechi Museum of Art, 23 km from Kumanoshi Kiwakozan Museum and 33 km from Kamikura Shrine. There is an on-site restaurant, plus free private parking and free WiFi are available. The property is non-smoking and is set 12 km from Hosshinmon Oji Shrine.

The guest house is located in a geothermal area, with a number of hot springs nearby for guests to relax in. The place is clean and cozy, satisfies every need a hiker may have. A natural hot spring just at the door, providing an incredibly unique experience of soaking in the wonder of nature while steps away from your base. The host is very helpful and offered some extra help regarding my luggage shuttle which I was struggling to sort out. He speaks fluent English.

Great ryukan , Best feeling to take a full rest here after days on a trail, Onsen water in this area is one of the best I have experienced in japan. Full course Dinner and Breakfast is just wonderful , Staff and service is amazing !!!

Rooms at Nakanoshima Hotel have a traditional decor and come with both Western-style and Japanese-style seating areas. Guests sleep on futon bedding on a tatami (woven-straw) floor. All rooms are air-conditioned and include an LCD TV, an en suite bathroom, green tea and Yukata robes. Excellent place for relax and recharge after long day hiking from Kumano Kodo trail. Staff services are outstanding. Highly recommended.

Situated conveniently in the Shirahama Onsen district of Shirahama, Natural Hot Spring Inn Choseian - 長生庵 - is set 1.5 km from Shirarahama Beach, 2 km from Shirahama Art Museum and 2.1 km from Kishu Museum of Art. This was one of my best experiences at an onsen hotel in Japan during my 10+ years of travel. The staff were exceptional—responsive, welcoming, and able to communicate easily. Parking is right next to the hotel. Guests can enjoy the onsen facilities within the hotel and the nearby 長生湯, just a two-minute walk away. Both onsens are clean with 長生湯 offering a stunning view of the starry sky at night. There's also a restaurant nearby for supper which is convenient. Our room was spacious. We booked a 4-person room for just the two of us but the space is more than enough for 6 adults I would say! If I'm travelling with my family, I'm sure they would be super happy with the room. The food was delicious and satisfying, especially the house plum wine, which is a must-try! Overall speaking, excellent stay and great value for money!
