J-Hoppers Kumano Yunomine Guesthouse is situated in Hongu, a 10-minute drive away or a 70-minute walk on the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Route from Kumano Hongu Taisha Grand Shrine. The hostel was fantastic. We rented a tatami room, which was spotless, very comfortable and with a really nice view. The onsen was amazing, we absolutely loved it. Everything was clean, there were snacks, eggs to boil in the onsens in town and all cooking and serving tools to eat them afterwards. The bathrooms were incredibly clean. This was our favourite stay along the Kumano Kodo, despite being the cheapest.

Wonderful stay in nature! The place is amazing – just two steps from the river, where you can even enjoy a natural onsen right in the water! The rooms are spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The people here are incredibly friendly, kind, and always smiling, which made the stay even more enjoyable. The food was also delicious, with great care put into every dish. It's a perfect base to explore the beautiful area of I-Komono and discover the stunning nature all around. Highly recommended!

Hotel Kirinosato Takahara features outdoor and indoor hot spring baths, only a 2-minute walk from the World Heritage Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Routes. Everything was perfect - the owners, the room, the food, the view, the Oncen. Se highly recommend it

Offering tranquil outdoor hot-spring baths with nature views, a Nakai-san personal attendant, karaoke, massages and sumptuous Kaiseki dinners, Yunominesou is a 10-minute walk from Tsuboyu hot spring,... Great ryukan , Best feeling to take a full rest here after days on a trail, Onsen water in this area is one of the best I have experienced in japan. Full course Dinner and Breakfast is just wonderful , Staff and service is amazing !!!

Hot-spring baths and massages can be enjoyed at Nakanoshima, located a 5-minute ferry ride from Kanko Sanbashi pier. Traditional Kaiseki dinners and rooms with views of Nachi Bay are featured. Everything works like clockwork here.

The staff were lovely and very helpful before and during our stay. The house is spacious and scrupulously clean. The beds are very comfortable, and the bath is worth the wait to fill with hot spring water. We enjoyed the free snacks and instant noodles for a no fuss dinner. The Kawayu Onsen bus stop is a few meters away, making transport easy. Soaking in the river hot springs is a short walk away. We would definitely stay here again.
