The ryokan features family rooms. Having booked over hundreds of hotels, it was my first time to fill reservation form incorrectly (4 people family but didn't notice it was a 2 people order). Even so, the staff kindly informed me the order was wrong and gently asked me for extra people's futon charge without displeasure. They even provided rice and furikake for the kids for free in breakfast the next morning. I felt so touched in Matsudaya hotel.

Friendly and helpful staff at reception. One staff member at reception made telephone calls on my behalf to help me confirm travel logistics and a visit for a museum located far since I don’t speak Japanese. I appreciated that very much! The breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of choices and fresh, healthy foods. Excellent staff in the restaurant who make sure you enjoy your breakfast. Location is good, only a 10 minute walk from international ferry terminal. The hot baths and relaxation room with anime books were enjoyable. This is a fantastic hotel with many options to makek your stay very relaxing indeed.
