The view on the sea is amazing and the rooms are really comfortable. They serve food all day which is really nice and there is a water container so you don't have to worry about getting water. The staff was nice and helped us with diving, snorkelling and the transfer back to Makassar.

We had three lovely days here and can recommend the accommodation to anyone. The owners and the team are very helpful and very nice. Baracoco Bungalows is beautiful accommodation overlooking Bara Beach. The staff are amazing, present, helpful, friendly and professional. They are also fantastic cooks. The regular menu is excellent, but they also have delicious specials. They once made me fresh new boiled potatoes in garlic and parsley butter sauce, which was not what I was expecting in South East Asia and made a tasty change from rice (which I like, but I appreciated the diversity of cuisine here). They also made the best gado gado I had in Indonesia. The sea view ocean front bungalow I had was wonderful, affording beautiful views out over the cerulean-blue Flores Sea. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the bungalow kept cool by fresh sea breezes and a fan. Air conditioning is not necessary at all, the temperatures are perfect. It's an exciting five to six hour drive from Makassar, the contrast between tradition and modernity, people travelling in horse drawn coaches next to massive wind farms generating renewable energy, is fascinating. This is the perfect place to escape winter, and I spent three weeks here, and a total of a month in Indonesia and Malaysia.

Baracoco Bungalows is beautiful accommodation overlooking Bara Beach. The staff are amazing, present, helpful, friendly and professional. They are also fantastic cooks.
