A sacred stay I’ll never forget Staying at this guesthouse in Fuki was an absolute blessing. Akemi and Tomo are truly special people—so kind, thoughtful, and welcoming. I felt safe, cared for, and deeply supported throughout my stay. Their warmth and presence made all the difference, especially as I was traveling solo. The guesthouse itself is a beautifully preserved traditional Japanese home, full of charm and quiet energy. The village, with only around 200 people, offers an authentic glimpse into life near Kōyasan—deeply connected to nature, community, and spirituality. I was incredibly lucky to have the entire house to myself, and even more so to receive a private tour of Kōyasan from the hosts, which was personal and full of insight. Although the weather was unexpectedly cold for this time of year, the hosts did their best to keep the space warm, offering extra blankets and heaters. Just be aware that heaters typically can’t be left on overnight, so it can get chilly. Even with that, I would absolutely rate the stay as exceptional. The home-cooked breakfasts and dinners were a highlight—delicious, nourishing, and made with so much care. I also spent a peaceful day resting, reading, writing, and enjoying the slow rhythm of the village. It was a deeply grounding and meaningful experience. If you’re looking for something quiet, real, and full of heart, this is the place. I left feeling incredibly grateful.

We loved the attention to detail, especially the vintage record player with Japanese vinyls and how well stocked the kitchen was (oil, spices, rice, coffee etc. - the best we had in Japan!). Staff was very accommodating. Very spacious, perfect for our group. We had to change the group size due to a mistake of our own and it was very easy to resolve, thank you for that. We had a great time!

The house is huge and absolutely beautiful, with a layout that gives you plenty of space and privacy. The Japanese-style rooms are stunning, full of charming details that make the stay feel truly special and authentic. Everything was clean, well maintained, and very comfortable. The Wi-Fi was excellent and reliable at all times. All the amenities worked perfectly, and the house had everything we needed for a smooth stay. Shogo was an outstanding host: extremely kind, responsive, and always available for any small question or doubt we had. His support made a real difference and made us feel very well taken care of. We truly enjoyed our stay and would absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

Private accommodation with character that is clean and spacious. Check in was seamless with the help of the manager living next door. Plenty of kitchen utensils to make coffee and breakfast. Car park is right in front of the accommodation. Supermarket, Convenient store, Onsen spa was all in walking distance. Highly recommend for people visiting Yoshino, Kumano region.

Staff was extremely helpful and was smiling all the time. The breakfast was abundant - and had specialties every day. The public bath was nice also. They also had an option to NOT have daily cleaning of the room. So the environmental awareness / effort of the hotel is good.
