This eco rretreat has a wonderful location, and the manager Jacob is super helpful as I arrived unannounced to meet up with a sailing crew, and he helped with all our anchoring needs, kept our food in the fridge overnight, and so many other things. The food is great, tell them in advance you will be eating there. The tented rooms are comfortable and so peaceful. There are 2 family cottages, but I didnt see inside of those. It is lovely to stay in the forest, but beware monkey troupes which can overrun the camp at any time. the pool is huge and awesome to cool off

A beautiful place. The house is beautiful, large, and superbly equipped. The host (George) took great care of us. He arranged boat transportation from Shimoni to the island and a tour of the Kisite-Mpunguti Marine Park (only our family, George, the captain, and the guide, were on the boat). He organized a walking tour of the island and village, which was fascinating. He can also arrange transportation to Mombasa at a very attractive price. George arranged home-cooked meals by a woman from the village, which were delicious. There are no cars on the island, and it maintains its quiet beauty, and one can walk around the area and meet some friendly people. The island's people have managed to preserve their heritage, and you can learn about their traditions, daily life, language, and traditional coastal seafood. A unique experience away from mass tourism. I highly recommend it.

A wonderful place, our eyes really lit up when we arrived and saw how it looks and feels in reality. Beautifully located, secluded, great layout and facilities, fantastic friendly staff. We went in January, when the monsoon wind makes for really pleasant temperatures from noon onwards.

Amazing place! We even got a room upgrade: we booked the cottage and we were offered to go to Hemingways suite which was absolutely fantastic, with a private pool on the rooftop. The pools, both the private and the shared ones, were clean and nice. The staff is very kind and always available: they can recommend good and convenient options for visiting the marine national park. The lodge is on a beach with mangroves: don't expect to chill on the white sand of Diani, it's completely a different environment, with mangrove ecosystems and lot of conservation efforts. The food was also good. We ate abundantly at dinner and breakfast, and the staff was available to satisfy our requests and exigencies. The restaurant on the terrace, with sofa, and lot of books, makes it a perfect place to chill and relax. You can reach the KWS office (to take the boat for the marine park with a 15-minutes walk through Shimoni Village, which is small but super characteristic. We highly suggest to visit it for a very local experience. The Shimoni Slaves Caves are less than 10 minutes walking. Strongly recommended and thanks a lot for such nice hospitality.

Blue Monkey Beach Cottages is a recently renovated guest house in Wasini, where guests can makes the most of its pool with a view, private beach area and garden.

It was really a very special and unique experience to stay at Blue Monkey. Everything is simple but well thought through, so I wasn't missing anything. The solar panel allowed to keep the phone charged even though the place is not grid connected, showering with the bucket is no problem. Ismail is the most friendly and helpful host you could imagine. He showed me the village, helped organize a snorkel tour and had a lot to tell about the history of the place and the village. Wasini island is stunning with coral reefs, mangrove forests, dolphins swimming nearby. Overall, highly recommended!

Mango Lodge was exceptional. Rama was a wonderful guest, extremely welcoming and always ready to help. He prepared amazing breakfasts and dinners, and also brought us on an excursion to the marine park. In the end, we wished we had stayed longer!

I loved Bottle Cottage! The setting is wonderful - with a large private balcony with water views. And the cottage itself is really gorgeous - uniquely decorated and extremely spacious - the pictures don't do it justice. I especially loved the sea-creature themed bottle windows. I also liked knowing that my stay contributed to Reefolution - an organization that is leading coral reef restoration with the local communities. The Cottage is in the Firely Eco Retreat so you have all the amenities you need - restaurant, large pool - and the staff are so friendly and helpful. For divers and snorkelers, you can catch the boat to the Marine Park right from the jetty in front. I highly recommend this place!

I love how one enters into a preserved forest to then discover a central area of unique spaces: including a pool that feels like a jungle oasis! There is a traditional makuti roof bar, a central firepit for evening gatherings, meditation space, and tables scattered for private or social candle lit dinners. All of this accompanied by the soundtrack of the forest including bush babies. The entire space embodies freedom and creativity with wall art, one off product designs, and other art made by the resident artist. Rooms are all unique and I was lucky to stay in the mosaic room... The staff welcomes you in ways that makes it feel like you have entered their personal home; they are grounded, warm and professional. I appreciated their calm presence. I attended a "self-inquiry" workshop one day which was a beautiful opportunity to connect both with other guests and people from the local village. Not to be forgotten the direct beach access for watching the sun rise or early morning walks...to me it was the perfect place to reconnect.✨
