This was honestly one of the most welcoming and thoughtful places we’ve ever stayed. From the moment we arrived, Sydney and his team looked after us so well. The chef asked what we fancied and was very accommodating. He cooked the most amazing curry, lunch and honey hoppers for breakfast (which we were introduced to and absolutely loved). They even gave us a packed lunch for our elephant boat safari, which they organised, along with a great driver. There were little extra touches that made such a different, like beers in the fridge when we arrived (and they went to get more when we ran out), a cooking class with a local family, a really interesting forest walk with an indigenous guide and when we asked if we could do some laundry they sorted it for us with no trouble at all. The cottage is in a beautiful, quiet spot with amazing Mountain View’s, a perfect place to switch off. Would highly recommend supporting this amazing project. Such a great experience 😊😊

The place is amazing. In the middle of nowhere a peaceful spot to relax and recharge energy. The rooms are very nice (the bathroom is amazing!) the swimming pool is great and the restaurant is tasty. Staff is lovely

The lodge is amazing!! Sooo beautiful in the middle of a hidden gem national park. Fantastic big comfortable huts, beautiful open dining room, nice pool, in the middle of nature. The naturalist guide, Lucky, was absolutely amazing. He gave us the passion for birds and we had great meeting with an elephant during the safari lunch. We made also the walk with the indigenous Veddha. All so friendlz and so few tourists and so not commercial…

Charitha Rest provides an open-air bath, as well as air-conditioned accommodation in Ampara. There is a private entrance at the guest house for the convenience of those who stay.

Lovely local guesthouse that was well maintained and comfortable. I especially liked that they had net curtains and a mosquito net over the bed so you could sleep with the windows open and the fan on, fresh air is the best! Such a charming town, with all the necessities close by.

Set in Ampara, Rathnapriya Oasis features accommodation with seating area. With garden views, this accommodation offers a patio and a swimming pool.

Everything was great. The owner and his family were so friendly and helpful! He organises safaris (by jeep or by boat) and village tours (by jeep). The food was one of the best foods we ate in Sri Lanka. I you want to visit the Gal Oya National Parc, this Guest House is perfect!

With lake views, Gal Oya Lake Club is situated in Paraganakele and has a restaurant, a concierge service, bar, garden, sun terrace and year-round outdoor pool.

This place is amazing, the rooms spotless , large and very well decorated, they have thought of everything. The food was one of the best we have had so far in Sri Lanka, and they accommodated our every need. Couldn't recommend this place enough.. love love loved it.

We spent one night at Nobel Regency and it was the most unforgettable time we had in Sri Lanka. In the evening, we sat together, drank tea, played guitar, and laughed so much. The next morning, we were greeted with a beautiful, traditional Sri Lankan breakfast. Afterwards, we went with Rajew and a friend to a hidden waterfall that only locals know about. We had the entire place to ourselves and were able to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere for a long time. Later, we visited his friend’s home and shared a delicious meal together. The rooms were very clean and beautifully furnished, and the value for money was absolutely outstanding. It was a truly special experience, full of warmth and genuine connection. We are deeply grateful to Ruwan from the bottom of our hearts!

My family (including teenage boys) and I had a wonderful stay here. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming and produced a delicious supper and breakfast for us. We were positively surprised by the beautiful setting - if I could post some photos on this site, I definitely would! The property is surrounded by beautiful palm trees, wonderful fruit trees around the back and amazing spices, as well as a luscious green paddy field, all of which the host kindly showed us. The property is opposite a very pretty river and not far from the Gal Oya lake safari start. Would definitely recommend!
