The desert camp far exceeded my expectations for an experience in the desert. The location was quiet and secluded which gave me plenty of time to catch up on my reading. At night the dinner served was amazing and I spent several hours stargazing from outside of my tent (the stars are so visible here, I ended up seeing 3 shooting stars!). In the morning the breakfast was also fantastic and a great way to start the day. The owner and staff were very helpful and happy to assist.

Our stay at this accommodation was absolutely wonderful! The room was beautifully designed, exceptionally comfortable, and had everything we could possibly need. Everything was spotless, and the breathtaking views made our experience even more special—on one side, the endless desert, and on the other, a charming town with palm trees. The outdoor surroundings were just as magical. At night, we could admire a sky full of stars, and there was even the option to enjoy a cozy fire. Walking through the desert was an unforgettable experience. The owner took as for a small desert trip on his car and it was fantastic experience. The owner was an amazing host, taking great care of us and bringing us delicious food. We spent lovely evenings talking about travel, Oman, and culture. He was always ready to help with anything we needed. This place is truly a hidden gem—pure magic!

The tents were spotless, atmospheric and tranquil and just out of this world. The beds were big and sooooo comfy! Just walk out of the tent and sit on a sand dune and watch the sunset / sunrise (we did both). Loay looked after us and he was fantastic, making sure we had everything we needed and he was just great to chat to - full of local knowledge. And he was so helpful meeting us and deflating our tyres ready for desert driving. The food was lovely at the main tent, and the camp fire after dinner was a lovely touch. My brother did the dune bashing, sand boarding and we both did the quad biking / ATV tour - I absolutely loved this and again, Yasser was just such a perfect guide, taking us to some fun spots, giving us lots of freedom but being right at hand if we got stuck. He also took some videos and photos of us which was awesome to have. This overnight desert trip was the highlight of Oman for me. I just wish I’d booked more than one night so I could have stayed and soaked up the peace and quiet for another night. Thanks to all at Layali camp - you are all amazing and I shall definitely be back!

Staying overnight in the desert was quite an experience. Before entering the desert, I received clear instructions to have the tires of my 4*4 partially deflated at a recommended shop. Worked seamlessly. The journey through the desert to the camp is quite self explanatory, and with a proper car it is easy (even for a novice desert driver like me). The tent was marvellous. Spacious, enough for two persons, and the view is brilliant. The open air bath room tops it off. I joined the "desert bashing" experience, to watch the sunset from the dunes. Quite exciting to experience like this. Made some wonderful picture. The dinner was buffet style and I regard it as value for money. The breakfast in the main building was good to get the day started, with plenty of choice of warm and cold dishes. Good service, and attentive staff.

Our stay at chalet was amazing we had a wonderful time. The grounds were impeccable and simply beautiful especially from the rooftop terrace the sunset was stunning, it was just so beautiful. We loved the spacious atmosphere of the chalet - the cozy and relaxing surroundings and private pool. It had everything to enjoy the chalet and was well located. The facilities and the pool was a plus to our stay. The owner and his staff are very kind and helpful , owner personally came to meet us and was very welcoming. Dunes safari was also arranged by the owner which was amazing to see the sunset in the desert. Will definitely recommend to others and looking forward to coming back with the family for longer stay.

The host was incredibly helpful and responsive throughout our stay. The dinner was abundant and absolutely delicious. We also joined the sunset tour, which was beautiful and peaceful — a real highlight of the trip. The camp is located in the middle of the desert, far from any roads, making it feel wonderfully quiet and authentic. Our room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. Overall, a fantastic stay that we would highly recommend!

- highly recommend booking the desert drive for 30 OMR (per car), this included the transfer to/from the camp from the parking lot. The drive to the camp includes a serious uphill section, a cheap 4x4 rental got stuck several and couldn't make it. The desert drive is lots of fun, the driver will drive to 2 viewpoints (for sunset) with fun dune driving in between.

Very nice and friendly atmosphere, good dinner, we enjoyed the firecamp. Drinks (Tea, coffee, water), dates and fruits available all the time. The transfer from the parking place to the camp (as we didn't have a 4x4) was a bit expensive - 15 OMR.

The camp is quite big, easy to access and clean. Our bedroom was a big tent, with lots of space and a private open air bathroom. The owner Nasser was very kind and helpful. We did a jeep tour with him for 1 hour at sunset for the cost of 30 Riyal (including also transportation from the parking spot to the camp and back). The tour was quite short and we stayed close to the camp, but we still had amazing views.
