Waterside Cottages & Villas - Self Catering is located on the banks of the Notwane River, a 14 km drive from Gaborone CBD. I was very impressed. Zero bureaucracy, respectful of my privacy, didn't have to make copies of my passport and credit card like I had to do at all 3 previous hotels I have visited in Africa (Nairobi, Lagos, and Johannesburg). There was an issue with the main property gate where a thunderstorm rendered it inoperable and they fixed it with little fuss. Overall very impressed.

We paid for a small room but since we were staying for a long period, I think they upgraded us to one of their biggest rooms which is the size of an apartment and came with a large balcony. Felt very luxurious. It was also great having the rooftop restaurant so close on the top floor and the free breakfast that came with that. The location of the hotel is also very central.

It's incredibly central, making it a breeze to get around. We were less than a 5-minute drive to the CBD, yet the apartment itself was wonderfully peaceful and quiet. Amenities: The apartment boasts modern amenities that are both stylish and functional, ensuring a comfortable and relaxing stay. Honestly, this was the best staycation we've ever had. It felt like a true escape while still being close to everything. We are already definitely looking forward to our next stay here.
