Previous reviews mentioned the sound of church bells to be disturbing at night, but we found them to be soothing and not inconvenient. Steinenschanze Charming City & Garden Hotel is less than 5 minutes' walk from Basel's city centre and the university, close to historical buildings and the old town. The staff were excellent, they accommodated all our needs. The rooms are all modern and well equipped. You get a welcome drink. All went fine. We even extended our stay one more night.
