Steinenschanze Charming City & Garden Hotel is less than 5 minutes' walk from Basel's city centre and the university, close to historical buildings and the old town. Great hotel with very professional and friendly staff. Excellent location, only 5-10 minute walk from most main attractions. We were visiting around Christmas and the hotel's garden was part of the "Magical Courtyards" and beautifully decorated. There was also free filtered drinking water on every floor and free coffee at all times.

The breakfast was fabulous and the bed was very comfy. The owners are at another level of taking care for their guests and their place. I felt very welcome with all the small details from power plug adapter to city map with audioguide and small fridge with items at the supermarket price. No doubts would come here again.

What really sets this appartement apart from others, however, is Kris‘ amazing hospitality. You can truly feel that he cares about your well-being and satisfaction. I can definetly recommend staying here and will book again.
