Free Wi-Fi access is available. loved the pool, the accommodations, the breakfast, the walkways to the rooms with so many plants and birds along each side. it was very well situated for everything we needed and everywhere we wanted to go.

Surrounded by 860 private acres of tropical rainforest and featuring an on-site lake, a swimming pool, a sun terrace and games room, Arenal Observatory Lodge & Trails is located within the Arenal... The location is the main feature of the property. The lodge is an ex-Smithsonian research site established after the 1968 eruption. It has excellent, private hiking trains that include waterfalls, a frog pond (which we visited multiple times with our children to spot several frogs without any guide), an observation tower, waterfalls, a working farm and more. The views of the volcano are exceptional from both the restaurant, which also overlooks Lake Arenal, and many of the rooms. The grounds are fantastic and the staff put out various food to attract birds and other wildlife. We saw coati, howler monkeys and many birds. It was fantastic and the children loved it. Contrary to some previous reviews, the food was good (not excellent) and I suspect they have altered the menu based on feedback from previous guests.

This tropical hotel is located next to Costa Rica's Arenal Volcano, 6 km from La Fortuna. It offers a natural hot spring, outdoor adventure activities, a luxurious spa and scenic volcano views. Amazing. The property is beautiful and has a very welcoming atmosphere. The grounds are well taken care of and create a truly relaxing environment. The food was simply outstanding – both breakfast and dinner were absolutely delicious. Breakfasts were fresh, varied, and full of flavor, while the dinners felt like a real culinary experience. Everything was prepared with care and tasted far better than in many other hotels I’ve stayed at. It’s a wonderful place not only to stay but also to enjoy authentic, high-quality local cuisine. Highly recommended!
