We had a very relaxing stay at Mamallacta Lodge. The owner, Rosario, and the rest of the staff were very welcoming from the moment we were picked up from the airport until we departed the lodge. The property is very close to the Termas de Papallacta at a much more affordable rate.

We stayed in an A-frame cabin, right next to a stream and surrounded by jungle - how fabulous is that? The lodge was a perfect complement to our visit along the river, offering comfort and a cool swimming pool on our return. The staff went out of their way to make our stay special, we had a fantastic time.

We loved our time at this hostel, the hostst are very helpfull and kind. Our private lodge was comfortable, well-equipped, and had everything we needed. The big highlight: their strong focus on sustainability. The place is largely self-sufficient and run with real care for the environment. Bonus: they have two super friendly dogs that made us feel right at home. Highly recommended!

There are pools right outside your room open all the time. The staff is extremely attentive. Services at the spa are well worth it. On this visit due to a mechanical the morning flight never left Cuenca so I arrived after reception should have been closed. I had called ahead and was told the guard would have my key but in fact reception remained open waiting for me to arrive.

We had a fabulous three nights at Banana Lodge. Great location next to the river and only a few minutes walk from town, there was also a lovely brand new swimming pool and we found the room very clean and comfortable. Facilities were good: parking, wifi, shared kitchen, and lockers. Anna was also able to organise a day tour along the river with Carlos at Runawa Tours which was a real highlight.
