Located on the Ile d’Oleron, the Hotel Île De Lumière offers direct access to the beach. It has an outdoor swimming pool, a tennis court and many other facilities. The location is picture perfect, literally. It is on the western coast of the island, so if there is a sunset, you would see it. On our days, it was rainy, but that simply brought a different kind of beauty. The beaches were mostly empty - we had them to ourselves. There are several ways to get to the beach below, and all are an easy, short walk. Yet, the hotel is elevated, so you have a lovely view of the coastline. The room was light and airy, and very clean. There is plenty of storage space, and a nice shower with plenty of pressure. The bed was very comfortable, and there were room darkening curtains. The hotel was full when we were there, but it was still quiet. Breakfast is not included, but we found it to be worth the price. There was a lot of variety in the pastries offered, along with cheese, meat, boiled eggs, cereal, and fruit. We would recommend this place, and would stay again.

Nestled in the heart of La Rochelle and set in an 18th-century building, Maison des Ambassadeurs is just a 5-minute walk from the Old Harbour and offers a 24-hour front desk as well as a concierge... Raphael greeted us by attending to our car. He later gave us many tips and places to see and to eat. He was so very nice. Tiffany treated us to an upgrade which was so very kind of her. We were greeted with her friendly smile and warm welcoming followed with a glass of champagne. Such a pleasant entrance to our stay! The room was absolutely gorgeous. An entire area dedicated to coffee, hot chocolate, and a fridge with drinks, etc. The main room had a table, sofa, chairs, end table - all was comfortable and spacious. The bedroom was large! A king bed (super comfortable), end tables, a huge closet with robes and slippers. The bathroom off the room was also large! Nice lighting, mirrors, sink and wonderful shower.

Situated in the lively Saint Nicolas district in La Rochelle, this hotel is surrounded by antique dealers, bars and cafés. It offers free Wi-Fi and a conservatory with large sofas and tropical plants.... Everything was up to date, clean, efficient, thoughtfully designed, wonderful staff.

This place is astonishly good! Really cute rooms, beautifully decorated - with a bohemian, creative vibe! The lovely hosts showed us around their property and explained that we had use of lots of communal living spaces too. Breakfast was incredible... lots of delicious home made stuff (breads, waffles, jams, yoghurts, etc). The photos don't do this place justice!

Wonderful rooms furnished with style, extremely helpful and nice hosts, beautiful garden, jacuzzi and a cute cat. What else do you need for a perfect holiday? We only stayed one night but I could imagine a whole summer in these settings.

Everything was fantastic, the thoughtful details, the lovely picnic hamper breakfast with delicious oats, the decor of the rooms was stunning. And the alpacas were adorable. Dawn was an intuitive host and super helpful.
