I had an amazing in Chirris Hostel in San Juan. The hostel is super small and cosy, the common kitchen and space are so cute, it feels like home. I stayed both in the private room and then the dorm is also perfect, , only 3 beds and spacy, so this is the perfect option if you want to save some money. Everything is super clean and convenient. Andrea and Marta are adorable people, they help you out with anything and are so kind. I 100% recommend staying here for your trip to lake Atitlan!

Set in Sololá, Hotel Casa Palopo boasts a garden and terrace. With free WiFi, this hotel has a shared lounge and a bar. Staff on site can arrange airport transfers. The view is unbeatable and the facilities are beautiful and feel truly luxurious. The bathrooms are large and you've never had such a view while taking a shower. There's so many little details added to make the stay so very special. It was a unique and unforgettable experience. The staff is very friendly and willing to help with anything you need. We stayed on the higher level rooms located 150 steps up, near to the infinity pool and jacuzzi. It was always worth climbing up with those incredible views of the lake. I stayed in various places around the lake and this view was just unmatchable.

Featuring free WiFi and a restaurant, Eco-Hotel Mayachik is located in San Juan La Laguna, 16 km from Panajachel. I love the location! It's lush and green and overlooks the San Juan Mirador and mountains. Best of all it's quiet! The design and position of the cabins are great for privacy but also a bit of community building. Absolutely stunning restaurant with delicious and fresh food. Staff are incredible people full of information, warmth and passion. They are patient and kind. This place is absolutely perfect and possibly underrated. One of the best places I've ever stayed in my 20 years of solo travel. The photos do not do this place justice. It's pure unfiltered magic. Do yourself a favor and book the Temazcal (traditional sauna). You won't regret it. If you get lost, ask a local somewhat close by where Eco Hotel Mayachik is they will know right away. The lack of signage leading to the property is probably a good thing! Keeps it a little hidden. The dogs are friendly and only seem to bark at moving vehicles. One last thing....check for the spiky caterpillars before you climb into bed. One snuck under my pillow.

The property was beautiful! It has amazing lake views, the staff was very attentive and friendly, and the location was ideal (very easy to get around on a Tuk Tuk). We stayed here as a family of 4 and it was great! Definitely recommend for your next stay!
