The service is awesome! All the staff, from the reception to the dining room, are extremely helpful and friendly. The room is spacious for even five people. Their onsens are well maintained and beautiful. Dinner and breakfast Kaiseki are beyond my expectations.

We especially felt well-taken care of by Ms. Yamada, our concierge and her staff. Her dining and sight-seeing recommendations were perfect for us and made our trip most memorable. Thank you! We chose Kikuchi instead of Kumamoto, to get away from the city before our trip to Mt Aso. We got a lovely country house, but the main benefit was the lovely couple who hosted us. Super friendly and helpful. I enjoyed breakfast, my wife skipped hers, so the host packed it as a bento box for our lunch. Vegetables from the garden. A guided visit to the forest to see fireflies. Tastes of local food and drink. It was if we were lodging with my favourite aunt and uncle.

We stayed in a room that accommodated 4 people in Japanese styled bedrooms. A traditional home, it was a beautiful experience. The hostess was so helpful, accommodating and warm. She helped ensure we had the best stay and got to know the local restaurants and shops. Would stay here again!

Beautiful traditional Japanese house. We brought pot noodles as worried there would be nowhere to eat but didn't need to worry as helpful host gave us directions to an izikaya a couple of kilometres away. Good if you have a car but probably not ideal to walk at night as not much pavement or lighting. Wish we had a bit more time to enjoy setting.

It’s a very beautiful house with an amazing and welcoming owner! We loved the location and the room, very big and as described! We will be back! Furthermore, the two cats around the hostel are just so wonderful it makes the experience even better.
