A top-floor onsen offers the mountain view for both indoor and outdoor baths. Buffet breakfast comes with variety of choices and tasty. Ice cream, yogurt drink, and evening Soba noodle, after taking onsen, are nice treats, worth a try. Staff are very attentive and helpful.

Just 250 metres from Zenko-ji Temple, Matsuya Ryokan offers simple Japanese rooms with tatami-mat floors, a green-tea maker and an attached Western bathroom. The hotel features public baths. Amazing location with good Japanese traditional experience. Love the vibe.

Everything was spotless, and the private bath was beautifully designed and so relaxing after a day on the slopes. Akira and his team were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and efficient, always making sure we had everything we needed. The included breakfast was absolutely delicious. The location is ideal—just minutes from the ski slopes and close to lovely bars and restaurants. We can’t wait to come back! Thank you Akira and the team.

It’s perfect private part of villa, where you have all necessary. I like that the host has thought about all details there (like things for grill, sake and beer in the fridge). We made just a small stop there after monkey snow park and before Fuji, and this villa gave us a good rest.

We loved the Japanese style room and the superb kitchen area and common room with fab views. Everything was brand new. The staff were extraordinary. All of the staff were wonderful, especially Tahiki who helped us driving us to the slopes and booking restaurants. Nothing was too much trouble.

We stayed here while visiting the Japanese Alps. Atsu was really friendly and helped us out a lot. We had to check in a bit later due to delays and also had a last minute diner during our stay. The room was spacious and the breakfast delicious. Really good curry, and was able to accommodate my wife with a gluten free meal for her (celiac). And we also got some really good advice for food for our next stay :). Thanks Atsu!

The village in the mountains was spectacular and we spent time just exploring the town and wonderful shrine on the mountain. Akiko and her husband were the kindest hosts and picked us up at the train station, drove us to a local onson and also drove us to a restaurant for dinner. The house had ample room for our family of four (two boys aged 20 and 22) and my wife and I. The shower and bath were comfortable with lots of space. Akiko brough us breakfast each morning at 7:30 am and even made us amazing sandwiches on the day of our hike in the Kiso Valley along the Magome-Tsumago Trail. The owners also run a restaurant and hosted our family on our final night. It was truly memorable as we enjoyed our meals, a couple of drinks and had a great conversation with our new friends and hosts. I can't say enough about these two as they treated us like family and we were very sad to leave.
