I love that each unit is a separate apartment. Traveling with my children, I didn't have to worry about them walking too loud or running around. The homes were so clean, and smelled like new construction. The onsen was the perfect temperature and the sauna was perfect after walking back from dinner on a cool night.

The accommodation has everything and I felt very welcomed. It is a 10 min walk from the Imaichi train stations. The private room is extremely comfortable and in Japanese style. The dorms were also great but not so comfortable because moving in your bed affects the other 3 people in the dorm. The 4 beds are part of one single structure, similar to a capsule dorm.

The Nikko Nishimachi Club a la touto is located within a short walking distance to 4 area Temples/Shrines. Our suite was spacious and comfortable. The hotel offers wonderful private spa access on each floor which can be reserved in advance (there is a nominal spa tax which is paid during checkout). Some free drinks were provided in the room fridge along with some simple snacks (chips/crisps). Bathrobes, pajamas and quality toiletries are also provided. The staff was very courteous and helpful, always using a translation app when needed to ensure a clear understanding. Local cafes and restaurants can have odd hours or closing days, so just be aware. The Indian restaurant above the nearby Lawsons was very good, as well as the crepes in the cafe next door, when open. A visit to the local tourist information center was very helpful. The hotel reimbursed our taxi fees from the train station upon arrival and welcomed us with a glass of wine or juice, which was lovely. They also provided transportation back to the train station after checkout.

A very unique experience and cozy place to stay in the winter. The host was wonderful and shared some great coffee and food recommendations around town. Such a great alternative to staying in hotel.
