Located around 36 km from Solio Game Reserve, the hotel is also 10 km away from Nyeri Club. The accommodation provides a 24-hour front desk and free WiFi is available. We had a great time here. It was a great deal for the money we paid. It's a bit remote but that's the good thing about it. The staff was very welcoming even though we were the only guests that night so they had to work only because of us. We got a welcome drink which was nice. The cottages are large, high ceilings, lots of windows to see the surrounding area but all of them have curtains as well. Hot shower, nice bathroom. Comfortable beds with thermofors ready for us. And a baby cot ready for our little son. There is a kettle in the room and they also prepared a thermos with hot water for us. The breakfast was also good, various options to choose from. One tip. If you use Google maps to get here, they currently take you a long and a bit steep unpaved road from the south west. But it's better to come from the north east where the Google currently shows the road is interrupted. In fact it is not and it's perfectly passable.

The lodge overlooks a watering hole and salt lick, attracting a variety of wildlife, and features four viewing areas, including a ground-level bunker. The Ark is rustic and has character, fitting for the surroundings. All the staff are great. The rooms are small and simple but nice. The atmosphere is authentic. Highlight was the bird feeding. Don't miss that. From what I heard the employer did well by the staff during covid, it shows in the way they work now. A very chill place to stay, and the night time buzzer for game viewing is a nice and helpful quaint unique offering.
