This hotel was a real surprise, a beautiful old house in the amazing Sintra town. The majestic house with a magnificent garden created just the right atmosphere to study the ruins and palaces. Ladies in the hotel gave pointed and good advice on how to best reach the sites.

This place has a huge history as it was a residence of a former prime minister of Portugal, Maria de Lourdes Pintasilgo! Only this fact makes this place special. Besides, the seaview and sunset times on the balcony are absolutely stunning. Very close to the ocean, 5-7 mins walk in a nice neighborhood. Another 7 mins another direction, you will come across the open air restaurants area. AMA Pizzeria was the best! 8 minute drive from the viewpoint Praia das Azenhas do Mar. Very close to Sintra, Uber is only 9 euros away :). Bed and pillow are comfortable. Breakfast is simple but enough, plus you can bring more food and store it in the fridge. Likewise, a common kitchen is available 24/7 for cooking. Room and bathroom have ACs, meaning you can adjust temperature or moisture level easily. Cosy fireplace is available for everyone. Domingos and Margarita are absolutely perfect hosts!

This place is a bit out of town (you need a car) but easy to find and quiet. The view of the countryside and Pena Palace are beautiful and calming. Our host was wonderfully welcoming and very helpful with multiple recommendations for local fare and activities. We didn’t cook, but the kitchen was well equipped. A nice big TV and comfortable couches in the lounge are nice. All three bedrooms have soft linens and comfy beds.
