(From Switzerland, not Greenland as noted!) I can highly recommend Eskaleh Eco-Lodge for a stay in Abu Simbel. It occupies a quiet location on the edge of the small town with direct access to the lake and boats that you can take to the temples, though it's also within walking distance of them. "Far from the madding crowd", the buildings are in the beautiful traditional Nubian style, the welcome is friendly, the service very good and always with a smile, the food is delicious (especially the fish!), the rooms were perfectly comfortable and clean. Fikry & Shady and their staff will make sure you are well looked-after and wanting for nothing. Airport pick-up/drop-off, taxis and guides to the temples can all be easily and swiftly arranged. An experience to be repeated!

Such generosity and hospitality. We were looked after as if we were visiting family. The experience of Abou Simbel is one that we would have missed if we had not been staying at Wawat. We happened to be there at one of the 2 busiest days of the year. Assim, our host, personally arranged for us to attend all the festivities. He found us tickets to the night show and tickets to be at the temple for sunrise the next day, charging us only the ticket price in spite of all his work to get them. He then was up at 4am with us to ensure we were in the right place in the huge festival queue to see the remarkable sunrise event as designed 3000 years ago. We literally would not have been able to do this without Assim and Hamsah. And all with such warm, genuine smiles. Thank you.

The owner is the most friendly person we met in Egypt. He went out of his way to make our stay comfortable and to our wishes. He arranged a swim (for a few) for our kids in the Pool of 1 of the hotels and went on a sunset boatride to the temples with us. Walked all around Abu Simbel to go for shopping and find nice and affordable food. Even helped to arrange transport to our wishes. The apartment feels like a homestay. Very hospitable. Highly recommended!

Simply the best place to stay in Abu Simbel! My family and I stayed for one night and the house is really beautiful, confortable, spacious and clean. The location is great if your are visiting the Rameses Temple (only 10 min by car). The best part was Yaya's hospitality. He was really kind from the beginning and really made us feel like home and part of his family. He gave us the best suggestions for restaurants and souvenir shops and always was caring for our needs. Totally recommended!

Everything. This is new opened hotel, Everything is very clean. 10 minutes walk from Abu Simbel temple. Owner is very kind. I highly recommend this hotel.

Friendly, warm and kind manager, Mr Shaban and staff, Abdul n chef (cant remember his name) were all helpful and sweet. Mr Shaban shared with us his books on Abu Simbel Temples and arranged a boat cruise n the Sounds n Light shows too. He was kind to let us have our breakfast after we ended our tour to Abu Simbel after 10am. Chef was so kind to wait and provided our warm breakfast. Abdul was also so sweet to share baked sweet potatoes the night after our dinner! The property location is also excellent as it has a nice garden, Lake Nasser View n 10-15 mins walk to Abu Simbel temples. Very convenient.
