Absolutely loved the cozy vibe! Everything you could possibly need - you’ll find it. We even saw Northern lights from bed! Also, the hosts are incredibly thoughtful and, when they saw I hurt myself (prior to the arrival at the cabin) they offered their help with finding a doctor and gave me a cooling pad.

We had such a wonderful stay at the Old School House. Honestly, part of me wants to gatekeep this place – but of course I won’t. As a half-Icelandic person, this has definitely become one of my new favorite spots to stay in the countryside. We loved the garden, which was open for everyone to use. We actually ended up staying in for both dinner and breakfast, even though we had plans to go out and eat at restaurants. But the garden was just too cozy – we couldn’t resist. We also really enjoyed the hot tub and had an amazing evening watching the sunset. The kitchen and bedrooms were super clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone traveling to Iceland. Magnea and Greg were so lovely and welcoming. You can really feel that they care and want you to have the best stay possible. 10/10, would recommend!:))

- Rebeka was an excellent host, she showed us around the property and introduced us to her horses. - It's a homestead farmhouse, very close to selfoss. - The place was generously sized and came with a fully functional kitchenette. - We love the attention to detail, they thought about everything. - All items provided were exceptional quality, coffee, tea, cookware, etc.

Hot tub session early in the morning while the sun was rising: awsome! Everything was perfect, fantastic and cosy room with beautiful bathroom/ shower. Noteworthy are the flowers in the room that gave it a special atmosphere: Takk!!

Perfect. It's basic in some ways, but it has everything you could possibly need and more. There's a grand piano, a pool table, a ping pong table, a real Halloween themed amusement park attraction. The view from the kitchen and the outside patio is amazing, with fiery sunsets. The staff is incredibly kind. Kids are welcome and they have plenty of things to do without getting bored. The rooms are basic, but they have everything. You really can't ask for more. We had such a great time that on the way back we decided to stay a second night. Not to be underestimated, a 2km drive away you are already in open countryside with dark skies and little light pollution, so ideal for seeing the aurora.
