The Japanese-style futon is soft and comfortable to sleep on. The shared bathroom includes a hot soaking tub, which is very relaxing. The hotel also offers free laundry service for clothes we've worn, which is great and different from other hotels. The room is clean, and they make up the room and change the towels every day. The staff are true locals from Kyoto and can expertly recommend tourist spots and travel times. They also suggested some delicious restaurants for me.
