The city center of Flores is a bit of a walk, but easily reachable by tuk-tuk, so the tranquility of the rooftop terrace more than makes up for it. Recommended.

Absolutely beautiful hotel with everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, the grounds were GORGEOUS, rooms were impeccably clean, and their many lake-front decks and lounging areas made it the perfect place to relax and enjoy the scenery. We were in Guatemala during a heat wave and we were SO thankful to be staying at Luciernagas where we could float and relax in the lake or the pool instead of in Flores itself where the heat was quite oppressive. Guests can get to town and back with a free hourly boat. This was our favorite place we stayed during our Central America trip and an excellent place to unwind. The hotel has inner tubes, kayaks, plenty of hammocks, a friendly dog (Fibo!), and plenty of friendly staff to make you feel right at home. Really, really loved this place and highly recommend.

Facing the Peten Lake in El Remate, Hotel Mon Ami features a terrace. The property boasts a restaurant that serves Guatemalan and French food. Loved this spot! It was in nature and I could hear birds and howler monkeys. They have a restaurant but I am a picky eater and although there was no guest kitchen they still offered us a space and plates to make our own food. The swimming was sooooo nice! It is also close to a park where you can hike.
