Our hosts were so kind and very responsive to our requests. We went during the off season so basically had the whole site to ourselves. We were able to relax and enjoy our surroundings throughout our entire stay.

The apartment was immaculate on arrival and the layout all on one level suited us (and Sadie the whippet) down to the ground. The living room was very cosy indeed and we made use of the log burner with a few drinks in hand before heading into Westport for dinner (only a 10/15 minute drive). The kitchen was well equipped and the bedrooms were beautiful with the comfiest of beds! Right at the foot of Croagh Patrick the views are stunning to the rear and also to the front looking out onto Clew Bay. The location was ideal for our day trips down through Doolough out to Connemara. Pubs within walking distance, but Westport is just so handy to take all number of pubs and amazing restaurants in. Linda was a great host and we all felt so at ease during our stay in Murrisk

Located next to Ashford Castle, The Lodge at Ashford Castle is set on 10 acres of grounds, overlooking Lough Corrib in Cong. The Lodge way exceeded our expectations, its almost value for money (inspite of it not being cheap) because of so much to do around the place
