Aquatio Cave Luxury Hotel & SPA is situated inside the Matera Sassi UNESCO World Heritage site. Featuring a on-site restaurant and free WiFi, the hotel is located 400 metres from MUSMA Museum. The breakfasts were fabulous, the staff helpful and the location perfect! The beds were very comfortable, and the facility was very clean throughout.

Located in Matera, a 3-minute walk from Matera Cathedral, La Casa di Ele offers rooms with city views. This property is set a short distance from attractions such as Tramontano Castle. When I arrived I was greeted by Raffaele and given lots of tips and lots of information on where eat, visit and some history of Matera. My room was spacious and comfortable with a great bathroom too. Location was perfect, easy access from the train and to all there was to see in this magnificent city. Breakfast each morning was delicious homemade sweet and savoury food. The communication before arriving and while I was there was fantastic. I felt like I had been welcomed into a family home.

Everything was just perfect: comfy sleep, super nice staff, free parking and the best breakfast during our 18 days traveling in Italy. Thanks a lot. Location: close to Matera, but a car is needed. Spectacular position, outside Matera, easy to find, cant miss it. Torre is visible from far far away. A huge farm and castle occupied the hill The host is extremely polite The room is large, light and nicely set up The bathroom is immaculate, plenty of hot water and a very good shower. Breakfast......so delicious, the whole table of home made products, excellent

Set inside the Matera Sassi UNESCO site, Corte San Pietro is housed in a renovated historical building carved out of stone. It offers rooms with a private entrance and free Wi-Fi throughout. This was a fantastic hotel. The staff are amazing. The rooms are clean and lovely. The breakfast was delicious. Honestly every detail was perfection.

Offering free parking and free Wi-Fi, the modern Bhotel features a large garden with a tennis court. It is located in the Basilicata town of Lagonegro, just off the A3 motorway exit. Good mountain location. Must be perfect for skiing holiday. Comfortable rooms!

Overlooking Matera’s Sasso Barisano, Fra I Sassi Residence is set in restored 17th-century buildings inside the Matera Sassi UNESCO site area. Our experience at Fra i Sassi was absolutely unforgettable. Our room was beautiful and full of character — the bathroom was set directly in the cave, which gave it such a unique and authentic touch. One of the highlights was definitely the view: right from our window we had a breathtaking panorama of Matera, perfect at any time of day. The location couldn’t have been better. We had no issues at all with our luggage, and the direct shuttle to the hotel made arrival super easy. Once there, we were within walking distance of everything — it’s perfectly situated to explore the Sassi and the historic center. What really made the difference was the staff. Every single person we interacted with was incredibly kind and helpful. They gave us excellent recommendations for food and activities, helped with reservations, and made us feel completely at home. A big plus for us: we were traveling with our dog and everything went smoothly. And breakfast? Just as amazing as everything else — fresh, local, and delicious. Highly recommend staying here if you want the full Matera experience with comfort, charm, and warm hospitality
