Food - amazing, dinner buffet was great. Rooms were clean comfortable and had everything you need. Pool was clean, large and perfect. Value is AMAZING! We did the safari, 4 hours, by ourselves. I could not believe the price. In fact, the whole two day stay there is what we spend on a meal out at home in Bangkok. Just fantastic. And then we had a change of plans that meant we could not stay the extra night we booked. They were wonderful and didn’t charge us. In December! The busiest time of the year. Again, just stay here!

They found the best options for our transportation and the room is perfect to relax after an exciting day!

All staff were extremely friendly and helpful, very clean, comfortable bed, clean pool, the breakfast and dinner was amazing, great location close to restaurants. I could keep going on! The accommodation offers a sauna, hot tub, family-friendly restaurant and free WiFi. We only stayed for two nights, but we could have easily stayed longer. The room was clean, and our favorite feature was the outdoor bathroom, which we absolutely loved — it had a toilet, a regular shower, a natural waterfall-style shower, and even a small private plunge pool or bathtub — really fantastic. The location is great — right in the center of town, but it feels like you’re in the jungle. It’s beautifully arranged, and it’s definitely worth spending time relaxing on the terrace. The owner is extremely friendly and also offers dinners and a safari trip to Udawalawe National Park.

We have been to a number of very good family run b&bs throughout Ceylon. All of them good. But this one deserves a 10 because the owners really put a lot of effort in making clients happy. The dinner and breakfast was excellent and the safari tour organized by them also. The driver was very experienced and went through roads outside the beaten path to find animals which in this season are hiding and difficult to find. Great. The room was very clean, aircon worked well, mosquito nets etc. Just one tip: europeans like their breakfast with coffee or tea served together with food. After only for lunch and dinner.

Set in Udawalawe, 14 km from Udawalawe National Park, Max Safari Villa offers air-conditioned accommodation and an outdoor swimming pool. There is a private entrance at the guest house for the convenience of those who stay. There is a restaurant serving Chinese cuisine, and free private parking is available. It was very roomy, air conditioning worked great, breakfast was great! Max was wonderful; we arrived from the airport area with a driver that we expected to pay in US funds, as we hadn’t yet been able to get to a western union to pick up our Sri Lankan currency. The driver did not understand and did not want to accept the US funds even though it was previously arranged. Max converted to LKR and every one was happy. He arranged a private safari to Udawalawe National park. Our driver, who works at the hotel was exceptionally! He pointed out all the various animals that we most definitely would have missed, he was patient and took us to areas you would not see on a regular tour. The highlight was seeing a mother elephant and baby so close you could see the hairs on their backs. Our only wish was that we stayed long enough to do Yala National park as well!
