Our hosts were a fabulous help with local restaurants and wineries. We had steak on the grill one night...my husband learned a new trick: slipping an oyster inside a steak. Carpet bagger! 😆

Situated on a working farm, Smiths Farm Holiday Park offers accommodation surrounded by rolling hills and rural gardens. Guests can enjoy feeding and petting the friendly farm animals, which include sheep, cows, pigs and goats. Excellent, accommodating owners who thought of renters' comfort and making a memorable experience for them. They gave us a big bag of food to feed the farm animals, a map for the trail to the waterfall, offered torches for night hike to see the glow worms, a fan in the room (which is something most holiday parks do NOT provide and was much appreciated), and a large container of milk.

The motel is centrally located, a 2-minute drive or an easy walk to the town centre, supermarket, cafés and restaurants, stadium, gyms, pool, information centre, railway station and riverside walk. In addition, Marlborough's many fabulous wineries and walking and bike trails are only a short drive away. It is also a 15 minute drive to the airport and a 25-minute drive to the Picton ferry terminal. Extremely warm welcome and reception during check-in, even though I arrived quite late at night. The room was very clean and comfortable, and gave a warm, homely impression. Upon check-out, we received some very useful tips and info on what to see/do along the way of our roadtrip.

All rooms are located on the ground floor with free parking right outside the door. The lounge areas are complete with comfortable lounge chairs and coffee tables. The beds are either King-size or King-single. Eco-friendly body care products are supplied. Guests have access to laundry and BBQ facilities. We pride ourselves on our recycling systems. Well maintained, comfortable space. Appreciated the kitchenette to save a bit on dining out.

It’s a modern cottage with a large shower, very comfy bed and new kitchen facilities. I also had the pleasure of meeting the owner and she was so so lovely and very welcoming. I highly recommend this property, it is also very handy to the town centre and also has a beautiful park a short walk down the street. Will be booking here again for sure!
