This was a lovely room , opening onto the backyard with excellent views over the beach. Short walk to the beach for a long and lovely stroll. Fifteen minutes to the Point Nugget Lighthouse if you want to photograph it . Mike , the host is very friendly and helpful . Would stay again if in the area .

It's all redone on the inside and outside, while attention was made to preserving historic features. Very private setting with partial view to the ocean. Away from the touristy centre, yet within a walking distance to the restaurants, either along the road next to the shore or via a beach walk. The cottage had everything one would need, cooking facilities, compact cappucino maker, heating, Netflix, outdoor private sitting areas, well maintained garden, even a washing machine. We didn't meet the hosts in person but they were very responsive to our queries and returned the calls immediately. It's wonderful that the owners welcome pet dogs and provide even water/food bowls and dog toys. The holiday home oozes with charm.

Hospitality of our hosts and the cottage had everything we needed. We enjoyed the sea views and ability to walk easily to a spectacular beach and stunning forest loop walk. Our hosts Mary and Fergus are vibrant with roots in art, conservation and tourism, and it was a highlight to meet them.

The cabin includes a well-equipped kitchen and a clean & modern bathroom. There are also a lot of windows, so it was bright, welcoming, and comfortable inside. I also loved that there were heated blankets provided for the bed and a small space heater which helped keep me warm at night. There even was a small table with chairs on the porch, so one could have eaten outside (it was still a bit too cold outside for me to do that). You can also see the sheep from your windows :) Location-wise this cabin worked perfectly for me since I could easily do day trips exploring the Catlins as I was able to reach both Curio Bay and Nugget Point in a reasonable time. My last highlight was Mindy, the friendly dog, who would greet me sometimes and ask for belly rubs :)

The house is nestled in the fields and lots of curious sheep to watch over you. We loved it, we had everything that you would expect with so much old world charm.

Comfy bed in a great little private suite, everything was amazing. Great communal kitchen facility, game room, lots of dining and lounge sitting options in the sun rooms.

The Whistling Frog Resort features outdoor seating areas and an onsite bar and restaurant. Guests can enjoy a TV lounge and access to a fully equipped shared kitchen. very nice place and very clean, the staff were very nice and helped in every problem, perfect location close to a lot of things in the Catlins
